lyrics
The toad says to the dragonfly
“There’s nothing you can do,
In what to you feels like a lifetime
I‘ll have devoured you
Nothing in this world is sacred
Only your own life
You’re stuck on salivating tongues
Of selfish parasites
Tapeworms are swimming in my guts
They need to feed their kids
Part of me doth owe to them
Fairly divide your bits
Don’t scream and squirm
Don’t try to escape
Your purgatory state
You‘ll slow yourself down
Working towards the end of your days“
The dragonfly says to the toad
“Oh foolish predator
It is not I who depends on you
We’re two equal creatures
The food-chain as a social construct
You need me to survive
And as the last one of my kind
You’ll end the cycle’s vice
And you’ll become the prey
For a whole new kind of apex
Fed by unsuspecting toads
And insatiable power complex
So think before you end
This little insect’s brief existence
Of what the future will hold for you
Symbiotic coexistence“
Bacillus crawls up your bloodstream
The toad swallows the dragonfly
In an act of spite
His insides push and pound
Until the invertebrate dies
A mighty call of victory
Can be heard throughout the creak
And shatters every nearby dragonfly’s
Nest ’til the population’s small and weak
Cockily the toad
Self-fellates his act of heroism
Unaware, that his plans of luscious life
And endless hedonism
Will be over once his peers feel hunger
That he killed, by ending dragonflies’
Existence and forever dooming his reign of the food-chain
Teeth break through bone
And bone breaks through skin
One can only lose
Because to lose is to win
All animals are equal
But some animals are more equal than others
